Flatlay

Aloha!! In this blog post I am going to be sharing with you my inspiration for two simple flatlay ideas.

It starts off with the background of your flatlay. By having a simple or artsy background you will succeed in having a promising flatlay. You can use some simple ideas in your own home such as: grass, rugs, marble, sand or tiles. For my two flatlays that I am showing to you today I have used a background of grass from my front yard.

The absolute best thing about flatlays is that you are using items that you already own so this does not cost a single cent.

Now it is time to decide the theme of your flatlay. My themes today were firstly the beach and secondly travel as I enjoy both of these themes.

For my first flatlay I used objects found in my bedroom. I used swimmers and a towel to replicate what you do at the beach. Then on to the accessories! Lip balm for those sun kissed lips. Sunglasses for the rays caught. Hair brush to detangle those beachy waves. Hand cream to soften the pain. Perfume to replace the salt. I really enjoyed making this flatlay especially as it is only a few more months until summer.

For my second flatlay I used objects found specifically in my wardrobe. I used the same background of grass as it is just a lot easier doing both flatlays in the same spot. For this flatlay my theme was travel- this flatlay is my favourite! :) I used a floral dress as the statement piece and accompanied it with a passport holder (a must need item) and a selfie stick because why not? I added some lip gloss a watch and some other small items to the finished look. I completed this flatlay with a pair of floral sandals and I think it looks lovely! Definitely a pick for spring!!
